Rafael Nadal is the 2008 men's singles champion at Wimbledon. The second-seeded Spaniard defeated five-time defending titlist Roger Federer 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (7-5), 6-7 (10-8), 9-7. Nadal becomes the first man in 28 years to win both Wimbledon and the French Open in the same year. The feat was last accomplished by Bjorn Borg in 1980. This was the third straight year Federer and Nadal met in the men's final at the All England Club, with the Swiss man coming out on top both other times. Federer, who was the top seed in this year's tournament, was trying to become the first man ever to win six-straight titles at Wimbledon. Instead, he remains tied with Borg with five consecutive titles at the famed Grand Slam. The loss also snapped Federer's 65-match winning streak on grass, and his 40-match winning streak at Wimbledon. Rain delayed the start of the epic match for about 30 minutes, caused a lengthy delay in the third set, and was delayed once again in the fifth set.
